WordPulse prefers the browser Intl.Segmenter API (Unicode word boundaries) when available, with a careful regex fallback. Characters are counted with and without whitespace.
Flesch Reading Ease is a 0-100 score where higher means easier to read. Many web audiences target roughly 60-70. WordPulse also shows Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level.
Reading time uses words-per-minute estimates: Slow ≈ 200 WPM and Fast ≈ 300 WPM. Speaking time uses ≈ 150 WPM.
Keyword density is how often a term appears relative to total words, shown as a percentage. WordPulse can exclude common stopwords and show 1-, 2-, or 3-word phrases.
